In-Person or Online Service Options

A comprehensive speech and language evaluation will be conducted in your home. Kathryn will use standardized assessments, along with speech samples and a parent report to get an accurate picture of your child's speech and language skills.  A detailed report will be provided following the evaluation, along with a consultation to go over the assessment.

A thorough dynamic motor speech assessment will be conducted in your home. In a detailed report, a diagnosis may/may not be given, along with strategies and cues that were effective during the assessment. According to the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA), a trained speech-language pathologist should be the professional who evaluates and diagnosis for CAS.  To learn more about CAS, click here.

Brief screenings conducted by Kathryn Barnett are available.  If you are unsure that your child needs speech services, a screening may be great way to see if further testing is necessary.  Screenings may take 10-15 minutes long. Following the screening, Kathryn will review the results with you and any recommendations will be given.  If the screening reveals that further testing is needed, the cost of the screening will be deducted from the cost of the evaluation.

Kathryn will provide treatment sessions tailored to your child's needs and interests.  Researched backed therapy approaches and techniques will be used.  Kathryn will be in constant contact with the child's caregivers and provide strategies and/or homework to help facilitate generalization of newly learned skills.

30 minute phone and in-person consultations are available.  Kathryn will answer any questions caregivers may have regarding your child's speech and language skills.

Need help navigating the special education program in your school?  Does the thought of attending a CPSE or CSE meeting scare you?  Having trouble reading reports and understanding what they mean? Kathryn can help with all of your concerns.  She will teach you how to advocate for your child and assist you in getting the services he/she needs?  Kathryn will review reports, current IEPs and/or 504 Plans and help answer any questions you may have.  She will come up with a plan to get the support your child needs.  Kathryn is available to attend meetings to help advocate for your child.
