Evaluations

A comprehensive speech and language evaluation will be conducted in your home. Kathryn will use standardized assessments, along with speech samples and a parent report to get an accurate picture of your child's speech and language skills.  A detailed report will be provided following the evaluation, along with a consultation to go over the assessment.

A thorough dynamic motor speech assessment will be conducted in your home. In a detailed report, a diagnosis may/may not be given, along with strategies and cues that were effective during the assessment. According to the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA), a trained speech-language pathologist should be the professional who evaluates and diagnosis for CAS.  To learn more about CAS, click here.

Brief screenings conducted by Kathryn Barnett are available. If you are unsure that your child needs speech services, a screening may be a great way to see if further testing is necessary. Screenings may take 10-15 minutes. Following the screening, Kathryn will review the results with you and any recommendations will be given. If the screening reveals that further testing is needed, the cost of the screening will be deducted from the cost of the evaluation.
